The SINGING HIMS – 1976-2025
49 years of Musical Ministry

The Singing Hims began in 1976, and are completing their 49th year of musical ministry singing praise to God. The Male Chorus began with men from three Wyoming, Michigan churches, and has since included men from more than a dozen area churches. Two members have been with the group since its beginning – Roger Lamer and the director, Jack Ponstine.

Jack, Kris, and Mary have directed and accompanied The Singing Hims and have brought the “Good News of Jesus Christ” to those in jails, hospitals, churches, schools, nursing homes, missions for the homeless, and campgrounds throughout West Michigan.

This season The Singing Hims were blessed to sing in support of the Mississippi Christian Family Support Services, at Heather Hills and Sunset Manor Retirement Homes, Ada Christian and Calvin-Grandville Christian elementary schools, Friendship CRC and 14th St. CRC, and Mel Trotter Ministries for our Christmas ministry outreach. We were very blessed that after 5 years of Covid interruptions, we were able to sing and worship with the inmates at Handlon Prison in Ionia along with Pastor Dan Kroeze, Wayburn and Janae Dean. We are looking forward to our summer worship at Gun Lake Chapel.
